Stephen has over 30 years of experience in the financial services and investment management industry. His approach to advising clients is a holistic one as he understands that wealth accumulation and preservation is not solely about investments, rather ensuring clients feel comfortable with all aspects of their financial well being. Whether the conversations occur in the office, at a local coffee shop, the client’s home or on the phone, meetings always cover a variety of themes. Questions such as; What can I do to keep my spouse busy in retirement? Or I am single again, now what? Stephen’s experience ensures that the client is comfortably transitioned through each phase.
A lifelong Maple Leafs fan, Stephen has been able to build a backyard rink for his family, friends and neighbours most winters since his daughters were small. The Maple Leafs lack of sustained success in the playoffs has given him more time each spring to occasionally build benches from old hockey sticks which are gifted to friends and donated to local charity auctions.
Throughout his career and decades as an Aurora resident, Stephen has been an active community volunteer. He has been the Secretary/Treasurer of the York Oldtimers Hockey League since 2006 and is currently a Board member for Sparrow Lake Camp (fun fact, this is where he met his wife Anne!).
Stephen’s professional education includes a Hons. Bachelor of Administrative Studies from Trent University (1988), the Canadian Securities Course (1989), Certified Investment manager (1994), Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (1997) and the Professional Financial Planning Course (2002). He continues to further his formal education and is presently working on additional licensing designations.
Stephen and his team look forward to meeting you soon to discuss what is most important to you!
